Kelly's Pick of the Week August 19th - True Leaf Fish!

True Leaf Fish - I was so excited to see this fish! I haven't seen one in years. They love to "hang" around the top of your tank and search for food. A predatory fish - this guy love to hunt. Best kept with larger tankmates unless you want them to be dinner. Truly an unusual fish.

Max's Pick of the Week August 19th

Max's Pick of the Week for August 19th! ... Syno Eurypterus Catfish.
This fish has a distinctive high fin and he fell in love with upon site. "Take to Daddy work" he said as soon as he saw it.
It has very long whiskers and would be a great addition to any large tank with good size tankmates. Come on by and check it out...

Dragon Fish - Max's PIck of the Week

Dragon Fish - Max loved these fish. They do have very large mouths and will eat anything that will fit in there. They are pretty interesting and have little eyes on top of its head. Long, slender and gray, they do swim through the water a lot like an eel. They love tubifex worms and frozen bloodworm cubes.

Horned Toad Lizard

Horned Toad Lizard. I love seeing this little guys. He was eating some crickets this week. He seems to enjoy all the attention he gets at the shop.

New Ferret Boy Just in!!

This new little Ferret boy just in. He is so sweet. I really like playing with him. He is so dark. I have never seen a ferret this dark before. Come on in and take a look at him. This is favorite place to sleep - a little wooden house we have in the cage. Max calls him "ferry".

Our Guinea Birds

We recently got some Guineas to help with our bug population, especially ticks. They run to us when they see us hoping for that cup of corn scratch. They are really neat to watch. As you can see, we have three white and three black spotted. They hang out all around the house and let you know if someone comes up with some squawking. They seem to be doing a really great job of eating the bugs around the place.

Fourth of July Parade in Ararat, NC

Max, Grace and I were in the Fourth of July parade for Ararat, NC. We threw out doggie biscuits to all the people we knew that had dogs or if we saw folks with dogs. Max had a lot of fun and of course, Grace barked at everyone. We drew a lot of attention with our plush snake toy on our antenna. We had a great time and saw a lot of folks we knew! Happy Fourth!

Sweetest Softest Mini-Rex Rabbit

We have one Mini-Rex Rabbit left. He is the sweetest. He does "thump" when you vacuum around his cage though. He has not gotten accustom to the daily vacuum schedule. He is as soft as he looks. Mini-Rex Rabbits are the largest of the dwarf varieties of rabbits. They can grow from 6 to 9 pounds and they main characteristics are the large ears and super-soft fur. We have one left and we have really enjoyed them.
